I am so thankful for Mark and his family. We were passing through the area on our way to Roanoke Rapids when our Trailblazer broke down. We are from Pennsylvania and we were stuck almost an hour from our campsite. They went above and beyond for us. They made sure that we made it to our campsite safely and fixed the Trailblazer as quickly as possible to get us back on the road to home. I can’t stop thinking about how well they treated us and the patience, professionalism, and kindness they showed toward us. They are wonderful and I am so grateful for their assistance!
I’m not one for giving reviews but motivated when the experience was extraordinary.
My generator was leaking oil and kept shutting off. It was 5:30 PM on Friday when we pulled over off of I-95 in Roanoke Rapids.
I did a search on the internet and found this place on Lake Gaston which was about 20 minutes away. I was thinking no way it’s Friday and they’re about to close. I explained our problem and without hesitation she said come on and we will take a look. Being a newbie to owning an RV and in a kind of desperate situation they could take advantage of us.
When we arrived I went into the office and was relieved to see that it was a family-run business. We got there five minutes before they closed and the owner, Mark, was on the phone and said as soon as I finish with this customer I will come look at your RV.
All I’m thinking is how much is this going to cost. Then the best case scenario happened. I opened the door to the generator and Mark simply pushed the reset button… problem solved we have power! How embarrassing I could have done that. He also told me the oil leak was not a major deal and I could take care of that at a later time just make sure the oil level is good. It was the pressure sensor which was leaking just a little oil and I was able to replace that once I got back home to Florida.
When I asked Mark what I owe him he said don’t worry about it. On top of that we we are unable to find a campsite for the night and Mark made a phone call and hooked us up with a place on the lake. Wow!
Bottom line is Mark should have charged me something he does have a business to run but didn’t. What he did was easily worth 2 or $300 because of his experience and knowing how to isolate a problem even if he just pushed a reset button. The least I can do is write a review and tell anyone that may have any mechanical issues to consult with Mark and his staff. He has a huge shop and appears to have all the resources to fix anything.
Thanks again Mark to you and your family! My wife, daughter and two dogs really appreciate what you did!
Five Star review from Jack Grabe on his motorhome repairs on Google – “I had a 2006 Fleetwood Bounder 34F in for several issues from a leaking axle seal to a battery control center motherboard and much more. They , Mark and his staff, were nothing short of amazing. This is the place to take your RV to. Thank you Lake Gaston Auto and RV.”

I’m so glad Mark & his family have joined the Lake Gaston Community. It’s such a blessing to know they are there to take care of my vehicle when I need them. It takes special knowledge to work with foreign cars & Mark has years of experience that keeps me on the road. Facilities are clean & inviting. Staff is warm and friendly.
